Gas prices in December: an increase of almost 20% avoided
The global economic recovery had been hoped for since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic. But the rise in gas prices it caused was less expected by consumers. Focus on the evolution of gas prices in recent months and solutions for cheaper heating.
Gas prices are soaring
The price shield temporarily halts the surge in prices
The price of gas has been rising steadily for several months: +10% in July, + 5.3% in August, + 8.7% in September, + 12.6% in October. For several months, the price of this energy has soared. Without the intervention of the executive, which froze the regulated gas sales tariffs (TRV) on November 1, the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) announces that the price of gas would have increased by another 19 .5% including VAT between October 1 and November 1. This represented an average price increase of €17.20/MWh. The tariff shield – also called energy shield – announced by Prime Minister Jean Castex, is intended to counter soaring energy prices. Gas prices are therefore frozen until the spring, i.e. until March or April 2022.
The beneficial effect of the tariff shield on the price of gas

What does the consumption class correspond to?
As part of a natural gas supply at the regulated tariff or a market supply, the gas bill consists of an annual subscription and the price per kWh of gas. The cost varies according to the tariff zone on the one hand, and the consumption class on the other. There are 4 consumption classes:

Economical, ecological, reliable and efficient: the heat pump has everything to seduce. If the investment in a heat pump can slow down more than one owner, the choice of this technology to heat your home will be profitable. Indeed, heat pumps use renewable energies: air or water. Aerothermal heat pumps draw calories from the air to produce heat. As for geothermal heat pumps (PAC), they use the calories present in the ground.
This heater has a double interest by being ecological and economical.
Another advantage if you choose to install a heat pump: it requires no handling. No more wood chores before winter, oil tanks to fill or stoves to fuel with wood or pellets. With the heat pump, you have nothing to do… apart from ensuring its regular maintenance. In particular, a professional will check the condition of the circuit containing the refrigerant, which can turn into a powerful greenhouse gas when it is released into the air.

The wood boiler
Wood boilers have changed a lot over the years. Gone are the huge boilers of yesteryear that had to be fed regularly. Today, it is possible to install a wood boiler with much greater autonomy. To do this, two solutions are available to you: the manual boiler and the automatic boiler.

The gas condensing boiler
The gas condensing boiler is a robust, efficient and reliable heating device. The performance of a condensing boiler is even better when it operates with low temperature emitters, such as underfloor heating or soft heat radiators. The gas condensing boiler can be installed with another heating system powered by renewable energies, such as solar thermal. This type of boiler can be installed in a small unventilated space provided it is placed against an exterior wall. A suction cup will then allow the fumes to be evacuated outside.
